Our Security Policy

At the Northwest Maritime Center and Wooden Boat Foundation ("NWMC/WBF") we are committed doing everything possible to provide you with a secure shopping experience.

SSL / ENCRYPTION

The NWMC/WBF online store uses 128-bit encryption and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security features to prevent your personal information from being read as it passes over the Internet. SSL encrypts (scrambles) your personal information so that only your web browser and our website's server can decipher it. Your online password adds another layer of security to your personal information.

Our website uses Comodo SSL certificate services that include a limited Warranty for extra assurance that our website is safe to conduct online business. This Warranty applies to site visitors who incur losses resulting directly from an online credit card transaction as a result of a mis-issued Comodo SSL certificate. This certificate provides an Identity Assured Warranty of up to $10,000 and is in effect when the transaction involves an amount no greater than $1,000.

Just look for the red Comodo logo at the bottom of the pages in our website. Then click on it or hover over it to verify our certificate.

FAIR CREDIT BILLING ACT

Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your responsibility for fraudulent charges is limited to $50.00. In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

ADDITIONAL SAFEGUARDS

For added security your full credit card number is not retained on our server and only authorized individuals have access to your credit card number for card processing purposes. We may use an outside credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

In spite of the precautions we take to protect your information, it is equally important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your personal information, financial information, passwords, and computer. Keep all information stored in a safe place, do not provide your personal information to anyone else, and be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
