These hammers have a tapered end to set nails below the surface of decking and planking to facilitate planing without damage to the plane. The tapered end and crowned face make these excellent plane adjusting hammers. The heads are hand-forged, best quality tool steel, carefully hand-finished and tempered for a lifetime of use. The 14" handles are Kashi (Japanese White Oak).
